Columbus Blue Jackets provide injury updates on roster

It’s no secret that injuries have plagued the Columbus Blue Jackets this season. Through 21 games this season the Jackets have a record of 7-12-2 and sit in the basement of the Metropolitan Division and the Eastern Conference.
Columbus has been without the services of several key parts of its roster including Jakub Voracek, Jake Bean, Zach Werenski. The team provided an update on its stars on Friday afternoon.
Voracek has been out of commission since being struck with ahigh stick during a November 5 clash against the Colorado Avalanche. “He(Voracek) has not been medically cleared to resume hockey activities and remains sidelined indefinitely,” the team said in a statement.
The 33-year-old led the team in scoring a season ago. Voracek tallied six goals and 56 assists for 62 points in 79 games. So far this season he has collected one goal and five assists in 14 contests.
The CBJ also lost the services of Jake Bean on November 15.The defensemen suffered a torn labrum in his shoulder and underwent successful surgery on Wednesday, November 23. Bean is expected to miss four to six months.
Another defenseman, former all-star Zach Werenski also suffered a torn labrum and underwent successful surgery to repair the ailment.The 25-year-old has been placed on long-term injured reserve and is expected to return to the lineup in six months.
Columbus is back in action this evening as it battles the Winnipeg Jets. Puck drop is scheduled for 8 PM.
