It could be a day trip or an entire weekend depending on your level of interest and family needs.
The Museum is open most days except select holidays and special events. Please see the website for details.
The Museum is broken to periods of its history.
Prior to 1947, it was known as the Army Air Corps. Wilbur and Orville Wright; in fact sold one of their first fighter/observation planes. This model and many of the Early Period aircraft are featured when you first arrive.

The Early Years Hanger (Gallery) depicts not only early flight; but early air warfare tactics.
Afterwards, many other Air Force artifacts line the walls until you come to the World War II Gallery.
Hundreds of artifacts line the path to many legendary aircraft including B-25's, P-51's, several different support and recon aircraft and much more.
One of the legendary Doolittle Raiders B-25's, the B-17 Memphis Belle and the B-29 "Bockscar" are several of the iconic planes from this era.
The Korean War and Southeast Asia Galleries house the next historical hanger. Dozens of planes take you on a path through each conflict.
Upon leaving this large space, The Cold War and more modern era aircraft take center stage.
A large hall featuring rockets and launch platforms take you into the Space and Presidential Gallery.
Many visitors from all 50 states and many countries have come to explore this legendary museum.
Many events throughout the year also take place here.
Merely a hour and a half drive from most places in Columbus; it's so worth a visit to this great place of history and aviation.
Remember, life is an adventure. Take off and live it today!
